The staff members of the National Health Service in one of the health boards in Wales have been given virtual reality headsets that they can take home with them to assist combat stress and burnout caused by the Covid-19 outbreak.
After utilizing the headsets, employees at Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board have reported experiencing less anxiety and having better sleep as a result.
Dr. Ceri Lynch, an intensive care consultant, was testing out the device to see if it could assist patients in the ITU manage their pain, but she discovered that staff members were interested in using it.
She stated that the employees were under “enormous stress” and that anything they could do to assist customers was “worth trying.”
