The goal of this week’s Metaverse Safety Week is to keep the online world secure. As with previous years, this year’s awareness campaign will be conducted online, within a private virtual environment.
The legislation and standards necessary to construct a safer metaverse will be discussed by legislators, corporate executives, and technological experts at Metaverse Safety Week 2022, which will take place later this year.
The public can participate remotely via an exclusive virtual world in this week-long virtual conference hosted by XR Safety Initiative (XRSI), a global non-profit organization committed to creating safe and inclusive immersive experiences. Here you may listen in on talks about everything from human rights in the virtual world to government policy.
The following is XRSI’s weekly recap:
First, on December 10th, the focus will be on human rights; on December 12th, the focus will shift to digital culture, arts, and media.
Day Three: (December 13) Child Safety and Children’s Rights Day Four: (December 14) Medical eXperience and Immersive Health Care Day Five: (Dec. 15) Governance, Policy, and Trust
Officially, “The technology sector represents the greatest concentrated corporate power in the world and one of the most powerful forces in contemporary history,” as stated on the site. To paraphrase, “We can’t develop a better Internet unless we learn from previous mistakes, innovate responsibly, and work together to establish an Open, Safe, and Inclusive Metaverse.”
The 10th annual Metaverse Safety Week is scheduled for the 10th through the 15th of December, 2022. The meeting will be held online in a “exclusively developed Virtual World,” as was previously mentioned. Get your free ticket right here if you’re interested in going.
As an added bonus, XRSI is providing several sponsorship possibilities. Find out more about them here!
