In the Style of Pokémon Go, Marvel Is Developing Its Own Augmented Reality Game

You’ll have to physically travel the actual world in order to hunt for tasks to do as well as new powers and equipment that you can use to develop your character, much like in Niantic’s earlier location-based augmented reality games. This includes the powerful hammer used by Thor, the laser eyes of Cyclops, and the shield spells cast by Doctor Strange. The title of the game was disclosed the week before, when Disney was holding its D23 2022 expo.

The developers of popular augmented reality (AR) games like Pokémon Go and Pikmin Bloom, Niantic, have formed a partnership with Marvel to launch Marvel World of Heroes, a new location-based augmented reality (AR) experience that allows you to create your very own superhero and fight crime all over the real world. Marvel World of Heroes is being developed by Niantic in partnership with Marvel.
It would seem from the film that you would be able to construct your very own unauthorized version of the Avengers by combining forces not just with well-known Marvel superheroes but also with your friends and other online players.

In the not-too-distant future, the website for Marvel World of Heroes indicates that the game will participate in a soft launch. Registering for the game here is available for anybody who is interested in trying it out before it officially launches to the public. At this time, the complete launch is expected to take place in 2023.
